Alec doesn't think about how he keeps turning to Jedao for backup. He doesn't think about how they keep attaching to the same people, albeit mostly in very different ways. Or rather he does, and then he puts it very neatly, very completely in its own little box in its own little drawer in his head and he files it away, usually next to his thoughts about who he would turn to for backup with Jedao, who he fully expects will never say word one to him either way.

The long and the short of it is he doesn't approach him in the dining hall or the library or the showers. They're passing in the hall and he tips his body language ever so slightly towards Jedao before he actually raises a hand and says, "Hey, you got a minute?"
